Common Threads: Crafting for the Soul Series

Thursday | Oct 15 | All Day 193 Callahan Koon Rd, Spindale, NC 28160, USA

Welcome to Common Threads! ☺️
In a world dominated by screens, notifications, and endless scrolling, our brains rarely get a true chance to rest. That’s why I am so excited to officially launch Common Threads—a monthly, low-stress textile craft series designed entirely for mental wellness, digital detoxing, and community connection.
There is something deeply therapeutic about working with your hands. The rhythmic, repetitive motions of stitching, knotting, and crafting act as a natural pause button for an overactive mind. When you combine that calm focus with a room full of warm, welcoming people, it becomes a powerful form of self-care.
Why join the Common Threads circle?
* Unplug & De-stress: Give your eyes a break from technology and let your mind drift into a relaxing, screen-free "flow state."
* True Social Connection: No algorithms here. Just real, casual conversations, shared laughter, and a safe space to unwind together.
* Absolutely No Experience Needed: If you think you aren't "artistic," this is for you. We focus on simple, accessible techniques where mistakes are welcomed and perfection is left at the door!
* Inexpensive & Approachable: No expensive machines or intimidating tools. Just basic, tactile materials.
Mark your calendars! Here is our official upcoming lineup:
• OCTOBER 15: Mending (Boro & Sashiko) – Learn the beautiful art of visible mending.
• NOVEMBER 19: Chicken Scratch – A delightfully simple, rhythmic grid embroidery.
• DECEMBER 17: Macramé – Unwind by knotting gorgeous, tactile cords.
• JANUARY 21: Wool Felting – Intuitively sculpt cozy wool into beautiful shapes.
• FEBRUARY 18: Cross Stitch – Quiet your mind with structured, satisfying counting stitches.
• MARCH 18: English Paper Piecing – The ultimate portable, puzzle-like hand-piecing craft.
