Collapse ▲In partnership with the Polk County Agricultural Development office, N.C. Cooperative Extension in Rutherford County is proud to announce the 2021 NC Foothills Farm Tour. We are grateful to all of our sponsors for making this event possible, and to all of our farmers for hosting farm tours this year.
One of our favorite aspects of visiting a farm is getting to spend some time with the farmers themselves, and really getting a close-up view of how their farm operations work. It’s all about the community connections we make.
And so for 2021, we are offering more intimate farm tour options. Once a month, throughout June-October we will be hosting a day of activities with a farm tour in the morning (10 a.m.–noon) and another farm tour in the afternoon (2–4 p.m.). Each farm will provide their own farm tour to show you what makes them special, what growing and production practices they use, and how you can support their business.
NC Foothills Farm Tour dates and farm stops:
June 19: San Felipe Farm And Buttercup Cottage
July 31: Looking Glass Creamery and C-Saw Hill Farm
August 15: Cherry Mountain Farm and New Beginnings Historic Farm
September 18: TK Family Farm and Subtle Seed Farm
October 23: Belflower Farm and Colfax Creek Farm
