Cane Creek Park, Parks in Union County, Parks Near Charlotte, Family Friendly Activities Near CharlotteCane Creek Park is more than 1,000 acres of land surrounding a 350 acre lake and hosts a wide variety of both outdoor adventures and peaceful relaxation experiences. The lake is home to some of the best largemouth bass fishing in the state, as well as bluegill, crappie, and catfish. The park offers a modern boat launch, as well as rentals for canoe, kayak, and john boats. During the summer season, you can enjoy swimming on a sandy beach, pedal boats, and even miniature golf. Corporate groups should look into the large festival and amphitheater area, as well as the Lakeside Lodge which accommodates up to 99 people with a full kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor patio overlooking the lake.

The expansive campground offers several types of accommodations from wilderness and group camping sites to those with full RV hookup, or even some cabins with electricity for winter camping. Because Cane Creek Park is right here in Union County, it is close enough to drive down on a Friday night after work with minimal stress from traffic. Have you ever tried to drive to Asheville on a Friday evening? 

Cane Creek Park also has a 18 hole disc golf course designed by Stan McDaniel,Hiking Trail Sign the Union County local resident and Disc Golf Hall of Famer known as a pioneering disc golf course designer. The park also has many miles of multi-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, and they continue to improve and expand these trails. So whether you are coming out for an afternoon ride, or spending a three day holiday weekend with your entire family, Cane Creek Park has a lot to offer!
