Yoghurt and Fruit Frozen BarsIt’s time for a Summertime recipe! Who doesn’t love a nice frozen treat to cool off? Yogurt & Blueberries Frozen Bars use seasonal fruit and allow more bang for your buck at the grocery store. You can even use different fruits of your choice! Check out this SNAP friendly recipe below! Take advantage of the Double Bucks program at your local Farmer’s Market to purchase your ingredients.

 Ingredients

  •   1/2 cup strawberries (sliced)
  •   1/2 cup blueberries (rinsed)
  •   30 oz of plain or vanilla yogurt
  •   ½ cup walnuts/almonds (optional)

Kitchen Tools:

  • Wax paper
  • Large cooking tray

Directions

  1. Rinse strawberries and blueberries (or choice of fruit) before use.
  2. Cut the strawberries in thin slices.
  3. Cut wax paper to the size of the tray and place inside it.
  4. Pour the yogurt evenly in the tray.
  5. Sprinkle the strawberries and blueberries on the poured yogurt along with any optional nuts you would like to add.
  6. Place the tray carefully in the freezer for 2-3 hours.
  7. After yogurt is frozen, remove from the tray and use a sharp knife to cut yogurt into bars of your desired size.
  8.  Enjoy!
