Although many adults realize they need 150 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity to maintain health and wellness, they often forget that they also need two days of strength training in addition to that.

Hayley Cowell and Rhonda Peters, Family and Consumer Science Agents in Stanly and Montgomery Counties, have teamed up to offer the LIFT PLUS program for adults. This program focuses on 8 core exercises, but will also build in intensity and variation to increase the tools for healthy living. This program is perfect for people of all fitness levels- whether you are just starting out or have been active for a very long day.

This program will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning on June 1, 2020, and ending on July 27 from 11 a.m. until noon. The program is free, but registration is required. Once registration is completed, we will email you with a link to the Zoom meeting where the program will be provided.

To participate you will need to download the Zoom application on your computer or phone, and then click the link that is provided and enter the password provided in the registration email. We are taking precautions to maintain your virtual safety while in Zoom – such as only allowing people who have completed registration and have the password into the meeting space. Please take comfort in the fact that we are trying our best to protect you, but if you have questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to FCS agents in either county for assistance.

If you cannot attend during the scheduled time, please contact us to discuss the potential for watching a recording of the weekly sessions.

We are looking forward to “seeing” you in June!!!!
